Kipping HSPU is not an appropriate "medium" version between push ups and Strict handstand push ups. Instead of defaulting to kipping, work a mix of push ups and a "negative HSPU" or something similar. No matter how much we kip, it will not help our strict. Actively working things like negatives, strict press, db strict press, and regular push ups will eventually put us in a better position to achieve those strict HSPU's.
